Employment and Skills Training Opportunities
One of the standout features of the RBKC’s offerings is its robust employment and skills training programs. The council is committed to helping residents enhance their employability and secure meaningful employment. Through various initiatives, the council provides access to job vacancies, apprenticeships, and training programs designed to equip individuals with the skills needed in today’s job market.
For those looking to start or advance their careers, RBKC's website offers a comprehensive job board where residents can search for vacancies within the council and beyond. Additionally, the council partners with local businesses and educational institutions to provide apprenticeship opportunities, allowing individuals to gain hands-on experience while earning a wage.
The council also offers a range of skills training programs, from digital skills workshops to vocational training in various trades. These programs are designed to help residents develop new skills or enhance existing ones, making them more competitive in the job market.
Cost of Living Support
In response to the rising cost of living, the RBKC has implemented several support measures to help residents manage. As well as offering advice on benefits, grants and allowances one of the key initiatives is the Community Pantries program which aims to provide affordable food options to residents in need. These pantries are stocked with a variety of groceries, and residents can access them at a significantly reduced cost. This initiative not only helps alleviate food insecurity but also fosters a sense of community and mutual support. The Community Pantry has been visiting The Keep for some time, it aims to visit the Community Centre regularly on Tuesdays between 10:30 and 11:30 and at other ad hoc times.
Support for SEND Children
The RBKC is also dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The council provides a range of services and resources to ensure that these children receive the support they need to succeed in school and beyond.
The council’s website offers information on educational support services, including tailored learning plans, specialist teaching, and access to educational psychologists. These services are designed to help children with SEND achieve their full potential and thrive in an inclusive educational environment5.
In addition to educational support, the council also provides resources for parents and caregivers, including workshops, support groups, and information on accessing additional funding and services. This holistic approach ensures that families of children with SEND have the supportthey need to navigate the challenges they may face.
RBKC is working hard to support it’s residents and we atKeepAbility encourage to you to spend some time discovering what is available and how you might get involved.
