A Community United: Our Remembrance Day Art Installation
Remembrance Day holds a profound meaning for our community, serving as a moment to reflect and honour all those who have given their lives or been affected by conflicts, past and present. This year, the spirit of togetherness and remembrance shone brightly through a truly special art installation.
Our Remembrance display was a heartfelt tribute, made possible by the incredible effort of families and children from both The Keep and the wider community. It was deeply moving to see so many people contribute by creating and donating poppies, each one a symbol of gratitude and remembrance. From intricate hand-crafted designs to heartfelt notes, every poppy carried its own story and meaning.
A special thank you goes to Sian from Keepability and Aggie and Em, whose efforts at Junior Club resulted in the stunning giant poppy, the centrepiece of our display. Its vibrant presence captured the essence of Remembrance Day and served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made and the unity within our community.
The installation was more than just a visual tribute—it was a reflection of the bonds that bring us together, transcending generations and backgrounds. The involvement of children and families in this project highlights the importance of passing on the values of remembrance, respect, and gratitude to future generations.
Thank you to everyone who took part in creating this beautiful and meaningful display. Your contributions not only honoured those we remember but also celebrated the strength and compassion of our community.
Lest we forget.
